She holds aromatherapist certifications from Aromahead Institute, RJ Buckle’s Certified Clinical Aromatherapy Practitioner program for healthcare professionals, and an advanced diploma in aromatic medicine through Mark Webb of Aromamedix and the Institute of Traditional Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy. She is the Connecticut state representative of the Alliance of International Aromatherapists and a member of AIA’s Clinical Committee. Together with aromatherapist Christina Smith, Sue is a co-founder of AromaBridge (https://aromabridge.wordpress.com), an educational blog which seeks the shared middle ground between complementary and allopathic therapies.

Sue says: “The healthcare system in the United States is in a state of flux. Patients are tired of being looked at solely as a series of diagnoses or conditions that need treatment. What needs to be “treated” is the individual. There is certainly a time and a place for allopathic medicine in the treatment of serious illness or injury. However, more healthcare professionals are waking up to the fact that patients benefit from being addressed as a whole person, considering diet, fitness and stress levels in forming a care plan. Aromatherapy is a great adjunct in promoting mental and physical health.”
